Shaoqing Xu (violin/viola instructor)

Born and raised in China, Shaoqing Xu started his violin playing at the age of 5. In 2006, he studied at Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. In 2010, he came to the United States to study with the Shanghai String Quartet at Montclair State University in New Jersey. Upon graduation he went to study with Professor Jesse Mills at Bard College in New York and was a teaching assistant at Longy School of Music in Boston. He received a double Master of Arts degree in String Performance from both schools in February of 2017.

Tingian Chang (piano instructor/accompanist)

​Master of Piano Performance graduate from San Jose State University and both bachelor’s and master’s degrees were completed at SJSU. She is a collaborative pianist at VOSV and Shao Music Academy .

Yu-Chen Hsieh (piano instructor/accompanist)

Active performer, teacher, and collaborative pianist. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from National Taiwan Normal University and a Master of Music from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and Literature at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Hsieh was the recipient of the 2022 Langford Fellowship and served as a Collaborative Piano Teaching Assistant from 2023 to 2025. She has also participated in the Aspen Music Festival and School. As an educator, she has taught piano, sight-singing, aural skills, and music fundamentals.
